When I buy new clothes, I find an excuse to wear them as soon as possible. Recently I bought a cotton floral dress, I came home immediately, removed the tag, put it on, and went to pick up my son from school while it was 40℉ outside! I convinced myself that the day is perfect for such an outfit and the entire time I pretended I am not cold while shivering!!! I couldn’t help, I had emotions towards the new member of my closet (floral dress no.26) and wanted to try it on right away.
Maybe, if I placed it in my closet, and wait for perfect weather to come, which never happens in Chicago, I would have forgotten about it, or simply would have lost my passion for it. When feelings are strong, things are different, just like when you are hungry and a cheese and bread sandwich tastes like sushi! lol!
When I shoot a session, be it a simple family photo-shoot, an engagement session, or a wedding, I try to edit the files within a short period of time. The shorter a session be, the less post-processing it requires.
For example, when I photograph a family, I tell them I will Delivering the Wedding images within a week, however, I try my best to do it even earlier than I committed. Why? Because the memory of the session and the experience they got to have, is still fresh in their minds, and seeing the pictures soon after the session adds up to the value of their experience and makes the pictures more valuable. When they look back at the images, they all bring them good feelings, not only about themselves but also about the service they got to experience.

For a wedding, however, it is a whole different story. Editing the wedding images is a bit more challenging, for the numbers of the images are significantly more. Culling the images itself takes about 4 hours. I try to cull the images within the next few days after the wedding when everything about the wedding is still sharp and clear in my mind, and from there, post-processing takes for few days. Overall, I try to prepare the images sooner than most of the photographers in the industry. It is sad to say that even the highest quality wedding photography teams in Chicago would neglect it when it comes to Delivering the Wedding images fast. Even if you are hiring the best Chicago photographer, always ask about the turnaround time for the wedding images.
Here is what I do on my side: Delivering the Wedding images with high-quality edited in a timely manner.
What do you need to do on your end? PRINT your wedding photos!
Seriously, why don’t you order your wedding album immediately right after the wedding? What are you waiting for? The more you see the images, the more neutral and critical you become about them, while wedding pictures are a big deal for you and your children in the future. They are the only thing that stays from your love day, for them, therefore, they need to be printed.
Many couples have told me that they spent lots of money on their wedding and they can’t afford to order prints, but that is not an acceptable excuse. There are many different printing options in the market, and it doesn’t have to be in a form of a wedding book or album, you simply can print the images in a classic way which is a lot cheaper, but you NEED to print them. That is not negotiable! Do it when the emotion is still fresh in your mind otherwise, you may lose your initial strong passion for it and later you would procrastinate and the pictures never get a chance to be printed which means that the memory doesn’t get a chance to be seen as often in the future.
I included a high-quality photo book in my most popular package, so then the couple won’t need to be concern about printing their pictures after the wedding. I design their album and send it to a professional lab and deliver a high-quality wedding book to them. As simple as that!
