“Print your wedding picture pleaseeeee!”
-says a wise photographer
I missed the time when we had to print the pictures and place them into the albums with a date and a brief description on the side. When I was a kid, in the family gatherings, seeing the old family pictures was one of the common activities that entertained us for a good amount of time.
As we all know, the style of wedding photography was way different from what we see these days. It was mostly a few portrait pictures with a set background, bride and groom looking into the camera, and possibly some family pictures, whereas, these days, the photographer documents the entire day from start to finish with all the emotional details and silly moments, all the tears and laughter.
Especially in the lifestyle/storytelling genre of photography, capturing the emotion and vibe of the day is the most important thing that matters, even if there is a huge clutter of junk sits in the corner of the room! Who cares, the bride is getting ready and mom burst into tears of joy and I have to capture it (thanks to the quality of the lenses these days that blur the background)
One day, one of my couples told me that their whole wedding gallery was like a movie, from start to finish, and they smiled and laughed and cried and danced while watching the slideshow of their wedding day. How rewarding for me:)
Now that the role of the photographers is more like a storyteller, why not print the photos and consider it as a visual love-story book?
Images must be printed in order to be seen!
Images are the treasure in the family, passing hand to hand many years from now; therefore, they must be printed in high-quality materials. There are tons of print companies out there that offer good prices, and sure you can take advantage of that. However, I personally believe that the quality of the prints that the professional labs _that only work with professional photographers_ produce is something different.
The lab that I have worked with for a few years now, is an Italian company that is one of the best in the market. If you read this blog post, reach out to claim your 20% discount I offer on my wedding albums.
